Figuerassa, Palafolls

The commission was to cover an existing concrete track of 40 x 20 meters by providing a solution to be built in successive phases including enclosure and future changing rooms. The roof is built by spanning in the long side to allow full and complete openness of the interior space towards the landscape and the sea. With a span of more than 44 meters it its only short sides, details disappear to maximize the expression of a naked architecture. We can only trust in the scale and in the quality of the materials: translucent polycarbonate, which covers the main façade and the projection; and corrugated aluminum panels.

Figuerassa, Palafolls

Se propone cubrir una pista existente de hormigón de 40 x 20 metros mediante una solución que permita, en fases sucesivas, el cerramiento parcial del espacio. Resolver estructuralmente estas solicitaciones desde la economía de medios y gestos es el principal reto de la propuesta. Con una luz de más de 44 metros en apoyos laterales debe desaparecer cualquier detalle. Sólo queda confiar en la escala y en la cualidad de los materiales, dos y de precio moderado: policarbonato traslúcido, que cubre el frente principal y el vuelo, y chapa minionda.
